Setting Process
Setting is the core technology used to fix fabrics to specific dimensions and shapes while providing stable physical properties:
1. Heat Setting
Principle: Uses high temperatures to alter the internal structure of fibers, achieving dimensional stability.
Application: Mainly used for synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon to effectively prevent deformation and shrinkage.
2. Cold Setting
Principle: Fixes the fabric's shape by applying tension under cooling conditions.
Application: Suitable for heat-sensitive materials or functional fibers with special requirements.
Finishing Process
After dyeing, physical or chemical methods are applied to improve appearance and hand-feel:
Softening
Uses professional softeners to make the fabric feel smooth and comfortable, widely applied in garments and home textiles.
Functional Finishing
Endows fabrics with special features such as waterproof, fireproof, antibacterial, anti-wrinkle, or anti-static properties.
Sizing
Applies a sizing agent to the surface to improve strength and smoothness, commonly used for natural fabrics like cotton and linen.
